Profhilo®

What is Profhilo®?

Profhilo®, an innovative skin remodelling hyaluronic acid treatment. It operates beneath the skin's surface using patented NAHYCO® technology to hydrate the skin and is formulated for people whose skin lacks volume and elasticity. This exceptional injectable HA gel, created through this technology, offers prolonged stimulation of dermal cells. Administered into the skin, Profhilo® activates skin cell receptors, effectively addressing skin laxity and enhancing firmness, thereby rejuvenating and restoring the skin's natural resilience. Profhilo® stands out in the market with its exceptional concentration of hyaluronic acid. Beyond mere hydration, it actively revitalises the skin and reshapes ageing and drooping tissue.

What's the difference between Profhilo® and Dermal Fillers?

Although both utilise hyaluronic acid, Profhilo® and Dermal Filler operate in very different ways:

  • Dermal filler targets specific areas like the lips and cheeks, enhancing them without typically spreading to adjacent skin. It enhances natural facial contours, creating more defined cheekbones or fuller lips.

  • Profhilo®, however, stands apart due to its pure 100% hyaluronic acid composition compared to dermal fillers with additional components. Being entirely natural, Profhilo® seamlessly integrates into the skin, distributing evenly. This treatment not only maintains optimal skin moisture but also stimulates collagen and elastin production—crucial proteins that rejuvenate the skin internally.

Which areas can be treated?

Common treatment areas include the face and neck, extending to the décolletage, hands, arms, knees, and abdomen, effectively addressing skin laxity. This versatile treatment caters to both men and women, delivering skin benefits suitable for patients across all age groups.

  • Immediate results!

What can I expect from a treatment session of Profhilo®?

Profhilo® is injected just beneath the skin's surface. It involves two recommended sessions spaced four weeks apart. Upon injection, it swiftly diffuses into the skin, enhancing hydration without requiring massage, or the risk of leaving lumps or nodules. It disperses within a 2 cm radius of each injection site, typically requiring around 10 injection points for a full-face treatment. A single Profhilo® course rejuvenates the skin, fostering a radiant glow, diminishing fine lines, and promoting smoother, firmer skin.

How long till I see results?

The results from Profhilo® are almost instantly visible after the treatment. The maximum effects of Profhilo® are usually seen 2 to 3 months after the second treatment. This treatment series can be repeated every 6-12 months for maintenance, tailored to individual needs identified during a free complimentary consultation with our Registered Nurse. Results may vary per individual, emphasising the necessity of a pre-treatment consultation. Please share any health conditions or medical history during this consultation to ensure personalised assessment and appropriate guidance for your specific needs.

Are there any short-term side effects?

Like any injectable procedure, potential short term side effects include swelling, tenderness, bruising, and redness within 24-48 hours post-treatment. However, due to Profhilo's action beneath the skin and its stimulation of cell renewal, there's no risk of a swollen, bloated, or overtly treated appearance. Profhilo® has been widely used, with over a million syringes administered and it has a very well-established safety profile.

Contraindications:

Profhilo is not recommended for individuals with a history of hyaluronan allergy, anaphylaxis due to bee stings, pregnancy, breastfeeding, permanent facial fillers or implants, ongoing illness like a cold, prior keloid scarring, upcoming dental treatment within a month, or imminent overseas travel within four days. It's advisable to avoid Profhilo treatments two weeks before or after a recent Covid vaccination. Exercise caution in cases of autoimmune disorders. Avoid combining Profhilo with treatments like laser resurfacing or medium-deep skin peeling, and use with care in individuals taking blood-thinning medications.
